Anti-splattering aluminum plates for steel butt-welders

2005

I'm looking for a treatment that would be possible on an aluminum plate about 3' X 5' X 1/4"
that protects hydraulic cylinders during butt-welding steel plates... Actually, they retain steel-splattering and become very heavy, sometimes, these deposits fall on the electrodes during the process and damage the electrodes.
Could anodized aluminum plates be better than pure aluminum ones? Or some other treatment or coating?
Thnx

Hello Michel,

There are dip or spray coating products available for preventing welding spatter; used extensively in the automobile industry. Check them out.
