-----Replating of pre-tinned CRS
I would like to post a question: whether PRE TIN CRS could be nickel plated to prevent rusting. Or can you suggest other means of treating PRE TIN CRS to prevent rusting.
Many thanks.,

Hello Gunnar,
Can you let me know what CRS means. You can use an Anti-tarnish or a Sealant to protect the tin layer. But before doing this, you have to make sure that the tin layer is free from oxides. You can remove tin oxides by using diluted acid followed by rinsing, neutralization, rinsing, sealant and drying. Hope it can help.

'CRS' is an unfortunate acronym because it is never clear what it is supposed to mean :-(
To many people in the aerospace industry it means 'corrosion resisting steel', i.e., stainless steel. But to many people in the fabricating business 'HRS' means hot rolled steel and 'CRS' means cold rolled steel (probably more properly called cold finished steel).
