Zinc chromate plating ASTM B633 type 3

My customer requested zinc chromate plating ASTM B633 type 3 on aluminium. Is it possible to plate on aluminum or is it anodising?

It's not extremely common but, yes, aluminum can be zinc plated.

. . . which makes me curious! I wonder if it can be reliably electroplated directly from an alkaline zinc plating bath without bothering to use a separate zincating bath first?
