Ultrasonic Cleaning - Designing A System
I would like to design my own ultrasonic cleaning system. Is that a very difficult thing to do well or can it be done by almost anyone ?

First of two simultaneous responses --
Any one can design an ultrasonic system. How well it will work is a more appropriate question. No one knows your experience, knowledge or aptitude so no one can answer the question for you. My question is: Is your time worth so little that you can afford to use hundreds of hours of your time on a hopeful outcome?

Yes, you can design one yourself. It's incredibly easy.

Robert, there is a great deal of information about design and effectivness of Ultrasonics. However, you might well spend more money doing it yourself. Manufacturers generally guarantee results if they take on a project. Who will guarantee your work?

My guess is that the question wasn't quite clear and that Robert and John are referring not to the design of transducers and generators, but to the application of commercial units in a tank of a given size to incorporate into the processing line. In that case, the manufacturers do offer guidelines such as how many transducers to use, how much kW of generation is required, where to place the units to minimize cavitation, etc.
