Hammer finish paints unavailable?
I recently purchased a 1960 Polaris Snowmobile which is bound for a museum. It is finished a Industrial Production paint made by Sherwin Williams Demensol Blue in a hammer finish. Upon order the paint I soon discovered it is the correct blue but is no longer a hammer finish. The only source I have found for a hammer finish paint supply is from the UK and this company does not export! This has been no fun trying locate a suppler for this hammer finish paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why not write a nice letter to the top man at Sherwin explaining what the item is and where it will end up. Offer to have a plaque with their name on it as the paint supplier. You will be surprised how quick their labs will make up the paint you require and maybe free at the end of the day. If not try another local paint mf but write to the man at the top and not the sales office.

Any further information on hammer finish paints? I can find them in single spray can, but I want to use them extensively in a new building ... regards
