Stainless steel polishing

2005

Dear Sir
I am working on parabolic solar collectors and planning to use stainless steel sheet (300 or 400 series/0,40 mm)as a reflector. Please let me know more about the suitable method for longlasting, Mirror like polishing.
Best regards,

We do alot of stainless with a bright finish ,I forget the U.S. finish that it is but that is not really relavent in this case. Anyway, what we do is "cut and color" our stainless on a high RPM buffing wheel that we coat with jeweler's roughe,it gives it that mirror like finish. Or another way you may be able to go is have it bright Ni(nickel) plated and then chromed (U.S.26) it you get an experienced plater they can also get that mirror like finish. Hope this helps a little bit?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
