Indian Standard for Zinc Plating with Black Passivation

Is Zinc Plating with Black Passivation possible...?If yes what is the INDIAN STANDARD for that..?

Yes, it's certainly possible and has been done for decades. However, most people today would usually recommend zinc-iron plating with black passivation instead because it is both more corrosion resistant and more stable in color. What is your situation?

Basically our company is in the business of seating systems. And my application of Zinc Plating with black passivation is for the track(sliding Mechanism of the seat) in the vehicle. DO you know the INDIAN STANDARD for this application..?

Dear Mr Sujit,

The Indian Standard you are looking for is IS 1573. It is a standard for zinc plating and incorporates all types of chromating including black.

There is no IS standard for Zinc Iron plating with Board of Indian Standards. However almost every automotive company has its own standards for Zinc Alloy plating which you may find useful if you are looking for precedents.
