Adding color to chrome plating of mild steel

Please tell me some of the problems I would encounter in adding a colour to chrome plating of mild steel. Any info on this matter will be appreciated.

Chrome plating cannot be colored (except black). When people speak of colored chrome they are not referring to real chrome plating, but to shiny "chrome-like" paint.
