High aluminum content in hot dip galvanized coating

2005

We are experiencing galvanizing problems with one of our products fabricated with high manganese and silicone content. The final aluminium content in the coating is higher we had previously expected (maximum=0,5% and we obtain up to 0,9%)
We would like to know the possible variables we could change in the hot dip galvanizing line to eliminate this problem and approximately optimal values for them (strip entry temperature, bath temperature, bath Al content...?)

Dear sir
Bath temperature has to be up 440 and not higher than 450 degrees. Your zinc rate has to be %99.95 and AL makes your bath fluid. If you don't want to use al you can. but al decrease the thickness of zinc layer.
