Will Clear Zinc Plating cause parts to break?

I had a heat treated part clear zinc plated and was heated to 130 degrees. The part is breaking in assembly and the heat treat checks good. Would the Zinc plating be causing the breakage?

Heat treated parts would normally require baking for relief of hydrogen embrittlement immediately after any embrittling processes, and zinc plating is one.
