ANALYSIS FOR SODIUM THIOCYANATE NEEDED
2005
IS THERE AN EASIER WAY TO DO ANALYSIS FOR SODIUM THIOCYANATE THAN WHAT OUR LAB DOES. OUR ANALYSIS: 10ML SAMPLE OF BATH; 100ML DI WATER; 15ML 20% H2SO4; 1-2ML SATURATED FERROUS AMMONIUM SULFATE; TITRATE WITH 0.1N AGNO3 UNTIL RED COLOR HAS TURNED TO A WHITE ENDPOINT. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THERE IS NO VISIBLE ENDPOINT?

2005 The first guess is inadequate agitation. Are you using a spin bar? James Watts- Navarre, Florida 2005 I believe what you need as indicator is ferric ammonium sulfate, not ferrous ammonium sulfate. Double check your procedure. ![]() Dave Wichern Consultant - The Bronx, New York 2005 I don't know of another method, but we use the absence of red as the endpoint. ![]() Trent Kaufman electroplater - Galva, Illinois |

Hi, Bora. Can you please re-phrase your question in terms of the answers that have already been given? Ignoring them and starting from the top again doesn't move us forward :-)
