Knife edge nosebar conveyor belt wear

I have an application where I need a low friction shaft(currently using stainless)to wrap my conveyor belt around. Application is farming so dirt is involv ed. I was looking for a cermic coating for a shaft. All ideas welcomed.

Hard Chrome plating may work well in this application. How thick? I don't know without more detail - maybe .005", maybe thicker.
