Paint Mixture for translucence

Do you need to add some substance in a paint so that it can give you a Glass effect in the sense an almost transparent paint with very less colour in it or do you get them ready made.

What you are after is a premade liquid coating, most likely fiberglass resin or acrylic resin. Both dry clear and glasslike, the fiberglass is more durable though and much more commonly available.
