Why is nickel plating of copper useful




Please answer this question because it is my science homework; Why is nickel plating of copper useful to industries?

Hi Alex,
Nickel plating of copper is useful wherever you'd like to take advantage of the bulk properties of copper but the surface properties of nickel. For example, molds of all sorts are often made of copper because it is very heat conductive, but things tend to stick to copper so the copper is plated with nickel. Good luck.
