Rust Removal from chrome wheels

I have chrome wheels for my '84 jeep which have developed very slight rust spots. I live in Florida so rust is a common pest. Is there a treatment to remove & prevent recurrence of rust on chrome?

Chrome polish and wax is probably the best treatment for poor chrome plating, but as you may have already discovered, it's far more maintenance intensive than a new quality chrome plating job. If the wheels were plated back in '84 or anywhere close though, it sounds like you got your money's worth from the first plating.
