How to remove paint from chrome bumpers?

I'm buying a set of chrome bumpers that were painted by the previous owner. I want to remove the paint to show the chrome. The prior owner did not prep the surface - the paint is starting to peel, but I want to safely remove the remaining paint. Thanks.

Very careful use of an appropriate paint stripper for the type of paint used. Needs lots of ventilation or a protective mask for most. Avoid anything caustic or acidic.
