Sealing for hard anodising

My customer request to go for potassium dichromate sealing after hard anodising. Since we do not have the facility, we would like to propose hot DI-ionised water seal? Is there any different between these sealing? Would it affect the corrosion resistance property?

Thank you

Dear Sir,

Dichromate content in sealing salt acts as inhibitor. It enhances the corrosion resistance property of the Anodic oxide film, hence it is insisted upon.

Facility is very easy to create. You need to add 5 to 50 gpl of Dichromate in distilled water and seal as though you are sealing in the DM water alone. You may result in golden yellow color, shade depending on the conc. of dichromate.
Hope it answers your query
