Trivalent Chromium Plating Process Check

What is the procedures or methods to verify the trivalent chromium plating process for fasteners? What caution or critical point(s) to check to ensure fasteners are properly plated?

That's a bit of a wide open question. If you're trying to simply verify whether not the chrome plating exists, immerse the part in hydrochloric acid. If you see a color change from blue to yellow on the finish, you had chrome present. If you want to verify thickness, corrosion resistance or other physical properties, refer to ASTM B456 for evaluation of decorative chrome finishes. It is very comprehensive.

Good luck.
