-----Anti-stiction coating
2004
I am working in a tribological research project about the investigation of tribological behaviour of two ultra-smooth glass materials. During my experiences, it clearly appears that stiction (high adhesion) can occur between two sliding surfaces. In order to prevent this phenomena, I thought to coat one of my specimen with low friction coating: DLC, WC/C and TiN. As a result, these coating do not reduce or eliminate the stiction between the two sliding surfaces. Maybe someone can offer ideas what kind of coating material can be used to reduced stiction?

Try PTFE.

Put the low friction material on BOTH surfaces.
