-----Will Zinc passivation affect the weld quality / strength
We using studs (like bolt) which is welded to rod. Due to rust problem, we want to do yellow passivation (Zinc passivation) on stud. Will it affect the welding strength? Do we need to do Hydrogen de-embrittlement after passivation?

"Zinc passivation" actually means zinc electroplating followed by chromate conversion coating. If the studs are high strength steel, which they may be in automotive application, de-embrittlement is required after plating. It would be better to plate the weldment than the individual pieces.
