Oxidation on cu plated lead frame

2004

Dear sir.

I would like to seek some advice:

We are Lead frame Plating Manufacturer for Semicon IC. We are facing on/off oxidation on cu plated material usually happen after FLT (Functional Line Test) Baking. This problem occurs after our process conversion.

Usually for A42 (Alloy) base material we are using HCl acid, Cu base material we using H2SO4 acid.

QUESTION:

Does HCl cause oxidation on Cu material?

Any possible cause by process conversion?

Problem always happen why A42 (Alloy) process conversion to Cu process.

Any others possibility cause?

Thanks. Have a good day
