Bare Pipe Surface Finish

I want to know which standard is followed for SS and Carbon steel pipe finish. Can anybody help me find these standards ( may be in table form) . I want to purchase 8 inch ss pipes the manufacturer is asking me about bare surface finish.

Not only do you need to select a surface finish, you need to provide him with usage and/or pressure rating. These are big dia. pipes. What are they being used for?
