I am a research student my field of research is photosensitive compounds used in the printing industry. Now I face some problem to find literature for this field of study, because here in Pakistan I find very little literature . There for I call you for the help in this field. I hope your help solve my problem which I faced.
Now a days I am working to prepare such emulsion which are used in printing industry (gravure printing). This emulsion is applied on the metals (Aluminum or cooper cylinders) surface, Then a positive is mounted on the surface of the cylinder and now the cylinder is exposed by the Ultra violet radiation the exposed part of the emulsion on the cylinder become hard ( Polymerized) and unexposed part remain as such( not polymerized). Then the surface is develop with a developer (The developer contains some organic solvents xylene, Toluene, alcohol &some dies). The developer dissolved unexposed area of the emulsion while the exposed part of the emulsion is dying and remain as undissolved).In this way a mask is formed on the surface of the cylinder,Then the cylinder is etched with FeCl3 solution.The masked area of the cylinder is not etched.While the UN masked area of the cylinder is etched with the solution of ferric chloride. These are the some properties of the emulsion. The emulsion may contain some organic solvents (xylene, toluene, etc.) There for now I need your help to complete my work. Please provide me a list of light sensitive compounds (Polymerized on exposure to UV radiation) which have the following properties.
1. The light sensitive compounds should be soluble in organic solvents.
2. Under light it polymerized forming cross link arrange ment which is solvent proof.
3. These compounds when added to the emulsion (The emulsion may contain organic solvents like xylene alcohols, cyclohexanone, and some resins like sandrac, acrylic, pathalic anhydride, etc...) Resist chemistry has been proprietary for so many years that you would be better off trying a website that is more focused on the chemistry of resists. We in the printed circuit board/plating industry really just want off-the-shelf solutions, not having the organic chemistry background to make home brews. Tom
