-----Gold Iridite ⇦ huh? versus Yellow Dichromate
Q. Some people in the telecomm industry use "yellow dichromate" and
"gold Iridite" ⇦ huh? synonymously. Are these two the same and is the term
"gold Iridite" at all related to the element Iridium?
Thanks,

A. You'd have to go back about 50 years for the derivation of the trade name Iridite but I doubt that it has anything at all to do with Iridium. Iridite is a Macdermid trade name for chemicals for chromate conversion coating, which can also be called yellow dichromating. It's a scotch tape / cellophane tape or xerox / photocopy type thing.
