Galvanizing vs. plating for racking components

We are in the manufacture of racking components made out of HR steel of 1.6 & 1.8mm thickness. We average life span is 15-20 years. I would like to know out of electro plating and hot dip galvanising which will be a better option for this. At times these are used in cold storage applications also where the temperature can be as low as minus 30 °C.

HOT DIP IS A LOT BETTER. FIRST, THE ZINC IS THICKER AND IT IS DIFFUSED INTO STEEL SO THE ADHESION IS BETTER -- BUT IT MAY BE MORE EXPENSIVE MONEY WISE.

DEAR MR UNNI

GALVANIZING IS A PROCESS IN WHICH LAW OF give and take applies so how much you give that much you can take. So the thickness of zinc in hotdip is more so you will be much more safe and specially in this part of world where climate is humid. So you get your puzzle solved. Regards,

Hot dip galvanizing will give you long lasting protection for your steel.
