-----Tin precipitation problem
Q. How can I precipitate tin from acid solution?
Luis Humberto Leal MontoyaRecycling field - Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico
2004
A. Although your question is vague and generic, almost all heavy metals precipitate if the pH is raised to somewhat alkaline (a pH of, say, 9 to 11). Naturally there may be many possible interferences and solubility levels to contend with, the possible need for coagulants, co-precipitants, long chain polymers.
If you want to remove the tin while retaining the acidity, perhaps you can electroplate the tin out of solution.
