Chem-mill Maskant

I require information on alternatives to our current maskant used for protecting areas of large metal parts during a chemical milling operation. The maskant must be peelable and could be in the form of powder coating or liquid based, spray or dip applications. My current maskant is very good although requires 10 coats each with a 10 - 30 min cure time, it is also not that durable and I often get problems caused by factory handling damage between processes.

Does anyone know of a method of checking the coverage of the metal other than the spark test? I need to ensure the integrity of the maskant before the part is Chem-milled.

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
