Painting plastic Halloween masks

Ok I have recently gotten in to making Jason masks from the movie Friday the 13th and I don't know how to work with fiberglass yet so I have to use the plastic masks you can buy in stores around Halloween time. My question what type of paint should I use on them, because they vary. They need to have detail and putting detail in a mask with a spray paint is rather hard to do. And also will oil paint work on top of a primer? The primer I use is Killz. Thank you and please try to get back to me as soon as possible.

Thanks,
