Stripping chrome from wheels
I am trying to strip chrome from a set of wheels that I have. I bought some chrome stripper but it doesn't seem to be working. I am trying to grind it off but I can't reach a lot of areas. What would be the easiest way to strip the chrome from the wheels?

The operative phrase may be "doesn't seem to be working", Kirk. Chrome strippers strip chrome, but not nickel. And to the inexperienced eye, the underlying nickel looks like chrome. Stripping the nickel is a whole different subject and requires different chemicals that you may not be able to get as easily. Talk to a supplier of nickel strippers like Metalx (Ronatec.us) [a finishing.com supporting advertiser], or to a plating shop who can strip the wheels for you. Good luck.
