Are motor windings really gold?

I have a IBM System 34 which I am trying to recover gold from..I have found a lot of gold as well as platinum. But I have noticed the motors have a band that comes off and the ends come off allowing the armature and the windings to slip off very easily. I looked at the windings and notice that after I scraped off the insulation. There seems to be gold ... which is making wonder is this possible? Or am I coming down with gold fever. Help me please.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
