Defects after ENP on aluminum

Reasons for occurring white patches, Watermarks and water stains after Electroless nickel plating on the aluminum component having ADC 12 grade and forgings having AL6063 grade for which surface finish is maintained at 0.25 to 0.5Ra.

Dear Mr Pol,

Aluminium is the most fragile surface to clean and process in an Electroplating operation. You have to be very careful during all aspects of manufacture of the part, it is likely that you are incorporating such stains in your manufacturing process in addition to seeing new ones produced by a haphazard poorly run plating sequence. I can offer the services of my plating shop, which has a long experience in electroplating on aluminium.
