-----Can I plate copper on amorphous carbon thin films?
I am planning to electroplate copper on amorphous carbon thin films. the resistivity of carbon thin films varies from 0.01 to 1 ohmcm, which is about 3 to 4 orders of magnitude larger than metals like copper. other than a large voltage/power consumption due to resistive electrodes, will I have any other problem? also, does anyone know ways to do surface activation for carbon thin film substrates. please let me know. thanks ramkumar

Yes, it is feasible using one of the PVD processes and available in many PVD shops in MA.
