Waste gases or waste water


I would like to calculate or to evaluate the amount of electrolyte which is extracted with the gas above my nickel bath. It is a Watt's bath at 60°C. I have evaluate the evaporation but thanks to hydrogen evolution and mechanical agitation some droplets of electrolyte are carried away with the vapor. How many? Has anybody an answer? I thank you in advance

Monsieur Schuster ... oder sollte das Herr Schuster sein? Greetings! If you have a reasonable amount of electrolyte being exhausted, one simple way of capturing it is to use a mist eliminator. An inexpensive one will capture l2 microns at full efficiency. EUROFORM in Aachen came out in the 50'S with the v. good T-l00 blade which, in a double bank set-up @ 20 mm gap spacing @ max. 8 M/sec will achieve l2 µm and 20% efficiencies down to 3 microns. Any competent local plastics fabricator should be able to help you. If they can produce a coalescing eliminator, then you could get down to below 3 microns. We have one called a LMITS ... 3" SP (75 mm WS). Only this particular Abscheider or Separateur de Gouttes is a scrubber in its own right & is found in Jugoslavia, Australia, and all across the North American continent.
