Acid corrosion of metals

My student wants to find a table showing the basic corrosion tendencies of common metals by various acids (household types and industrial types). Any suggestions?

You might try industrial filter suppliers; I've gotten some good, simple tables from them. Other possibility is to locate a Chemical Engineers Handbook [adv: suggestions on Amazon, AbeBooks, or eBay] .

You should be able to find some information at the local library. One book called "The Handbook of Corrosion Data" published by ASM International provides a vide variety of data. It covers different metals and different corrosive solutions and the effects on the metal, e.g. pitting, weight loss, etc.

Best of Luck.
