Premature failure of Tri Nickel Coating on Welded joints

We are doing TRI NICKEL PLATING on Sheet Metal Welded Components used in Automobiles. The area of concern is failure of our components at customer end due to premature chip off of Nickel Plating and subsequent corrosion of the base material. We are looking for some solution in this regard.

Hi, Gagan. Properly applied nickel plating will not chip off. If it does, usually the parts were not properly cleaned or were not properly activated. But the lingo is not clear to me -- exactly what does "tri nickel" mean? Thanks.
