My White Gold ring is turning yellow

So are you saying your ring is/will turn a yellowish color? I just purchased a white gold ring and it has a yellow tint to it. I'm planning on taking it back to the store where it was purchased because of this...

Hallo Lisa,

This is nothing to worry it happens like this b'coz it is white gold. Can you tell me how much karat is? 18k (750)? You need to do this plating now and then if it is not done thick plating about 3 to 4 microns I'm sure that plating have come off b'coz of less plating done on it. Just tell your jeweler to do more plating not a flash plating like how other platers are doing.

Please share with us the composition and operating parameters of your rhodium bath. In particular, what is the grams per liter of rhodium. I am surprised you can get 4 microns (160 micro-inches) of rhodium thickness and maintain brightness.

Hello Dipen:

Dear Neil,

This will make you more surprise read as follow:

My bath have 5 g Rh per liter and it is plating 10 microns max and I have another bath which is plating up to 0.5 to 0.7 micron max.

I always like to do best and thicker plating and I also charge like that. If I'm not mistaken there is no brightener for Rhodium.
