Does Platinum metal have memory?

I have a four year old platinum ring that has bent out of shape twice in the last two years (for no apparent reason). Could it be a defect of manufacturing? Could it be metal has memory and it will continue to return to the bent shape?

I have never heard of platinum having a shape memory. However, it is possible that the ring is platinum plated and that the base metal has been previously put into its distorted shape and the shape you want is putting the ring under stress.

We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
