Chrome-like finish on the back side of clear plastic

I'm doing some research for an idea I had. What kind of process is used to make a chrome like finish on the BACK of clear plastic? So that the finish is seen throught the plastic on the other side of the plastic. This is common on car emblems of the 60ds-80ds
