-----Furniture restorer can't reliably solder brass-plated zinc
I would like to know if there is a way to repair zinc pieces. I am in the antique restoration business and I have zinc pieces that I have brass plated and normal solder will not hold, any ideas?

Was any kind of coating put on the brass? Can you try a stronger flux?

I have tried to repair zinc pieces with silver solder after brass plating and and some results but not very good results basically my question is, is there anything on the market anywhere that is made to repair zinc before or after plating . I am in antique metal restoration and I come across a lot of zinc repairs for my customers and when you use flux and solder it is not very pretty especially on very ornate pieces.
