The thicker the Zn plating, the rougher the surface finish?

Is it true that the thicker the Zn plating, the rougher the surface finishing would be ? Any guideline to follow ?

Hi, I am a Supplier Quality Engineer. I have a few cold rolled steel plates that called for ASTM B633, SC4 on Zn plating. The parts surfaces become rough especially at edges. Is it correct that the thicker is the Zn coating, the rougher the surface finishing would be ?

Yes "but", Mr. Buay

I just have this funny feeling that you are looking at burnt plating.
