OEM asks how etch rate is calculated and measured

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Proper Calculation of Etch Rate. How is the etch rate measured and how does one calculate the etch rate for Aluminum Parts needing to be anodized.

dear henry

etch rate is calculated as gram per sq. meter

it is usually 50-80 gr/m2 for normal etch activity.

long life etch bath poses etch rate less than above to maintain satin finish on aluminum .
