-----Statistical analysis of inspection data for hydrocarbon piping systems
Q. Hi,
I am working on a statistical analysis of inspection data for hydrocarbon piping systems on production facilities and need to identify how existing inspection data can be used to determine corrosion rates and to provide a quantitative basis for sample inspection. Currently the estimation and analysis of the corrosion is handled by experienced engineers and they mainly rely on their experience to pin point an area in the pipe for corrosion inspection. I am looking for the statistical methods that I could use, any ideas?
Thanks,

A. A good book to start with is Applied Statistics & Probability For Engineers by Douglas C Montgomery, perhaps your library has a copy.
