-----Wrought iron railing refinishing
My husband and I have recently purchased a home with wrought iron railings. I would like to know how to refinish them to look like pewter.

Paint them. Seriously, there are plenty of fancy paints at the hardware store these days, whereas the idea of removing all of the paint and other blackening, getting the metal white and rust free, and clearcoating it, would constitute a project you don't want to even think about. And the clear coat would not stop the railing from re-rusting for long at all.
