Science Project: Speeding Up Corrosion

I'm doing a project at school and I would like to know how to speed up the process of corrosion, or what causes corrosion. I would also like to know methods on how to prevent corrosion.

Thank you,

Look up the word in an online encyclopedia, Meera. Your librarian would be delighted to help you find an age-appropriate book on corrosion if you have the time and inclination to get to the library. Good luck, and if there are more specific questions that arises as you study the topic, let us know. We can help you over any stumbling blocks, but we try to be careful to not do for you the research that you are supposed to do yourself.
