Child safety products require bonding of PP to ABS

Do you know the best method for bonding ABS to PP? The surface area of the two parts in approximately 1 inch in diameter.

Thanks!

Shaazia,

The person who could give you perhaps some helpful data is Trevor Crichton (a contributor to this site) as it involves, I believe, some type of treatment to the PP to make it receptive to being bonded.

Generally speaking, you can't adhere PP or Pe to anything with success.

Is is possible to make a mechanical bond? Why PP or why ABS? Can't the entire section be made of ABS?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
