Metal finishing

2003

I am presently working on to produce a aesthetic looking house hold product. We need a matte finish on the aluminum fabricated box like shape.
Please suggest to get that finish.

The final step is anodizing. We will welcome suggestion and equipment required for this.

The finish you require depends upon where you are now. For an anodize final coat, normally you should process parts in a mass finishing system with at least a medium cut plastic preform shape; however, if your surface finish is rougher than 35RMS you may need a coarse plastic or a fine ceramic to get that surface down to about 22 RMS before the 2nd step which should get you you to 16-18 RMS which is a good looking finish. Finer finishes are possible but not necessary.
