Buffing compound for seashells

I am very interested in polishing seashells. my collection is rather small and this is more of a hobby rather than a business venture but I would love to know the buffing compound you've mentioned before.

Sourcing of these materials here in the Philippines is rather difficult and it would be most appreciated if you can provide common names used for the said compounds. Maj torno Philippines.

Try jeweler's rouge (polishing/buffing compound) [affil links]...many kinds will work. Try to get one that closest matches the color of your shell since shells are porous and the pores may get clogged up with the buffing compound, discoloring the shell.
