How do I know if Nikasil liners are worn?

I have a 1979 Yamaha SRX 440. I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine. My question is: How do I know if the cylinders are worn out? I know they have Nikasil on them but I can't tell how worn they are. The sled has under 10,000 kms or just over 6200 mls on the speedo. The cylinders look ok with no scoring but they do have shiny spots on them indicating that they are worn. Also the cylinders are within spec.
