Student questions about copper

2003

I was having a problem with my project which mainly about COPPER. It's a mineral project!
I've been looking all over for the answer to this question,

1. What's the density of copper, and the definition of this specific gravity.

2. names, chemical formulas and the % of compositions of three minerals containing the metals.

3. geologic, and geographic locations in which the metal can be found.

4. The type of mining used, and the explanation of the mining process, equipment used during mining, extraction methods or the refining process.

5. The use of this metal

6. Visual of the mining or refining process or several of the uses of the metal. and also where can I find this metal in California (map).

I hope you'll answer all of my questions soon before September 28, 2003.
PLEASE ANSWER THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Once again, thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.

THANK YOU! I'll wait for your reply.

Ted,
Here is that young person we discussed last week. This person is making me eat my own words. Here, everything needs to be served on a plate then he/she may eat it (if he/she likes)!

Vicki, most smart people on this site will not answer your questions in the format you want.
They know what you are trying to do (because, once upon a time long-long-ago, we all had to do our home work, then expected our children to do the same too) !

Sooooo---, first, you go to your teacher, then ask where to look for the answers. Then go there and "look". That simple ! To me you haven't even started yet.

The other answers would be, find an encyclopedia for some answers, and look for books on physics and chemistry for other answers.

Hi Vicki,

Your questions are incredibly straightforward, so I cannot believe that you have "looked all over" and couldn't find the answers. Consult a good high school chemistry textbook and an encyclopedia and you'll be on your way. Experts who visit this site are willing to help people who truly need help. They're not nearly so willing to do someone's homework for them.
