Material of construction for dilute HCl solution at high temperature

What is the suggested material for a tank to handle 10% HCl solution at 95 °C temperature. Can SS316 be used ?

Hi Ramesh !

You didn't say how large your tank was ... a minor point but it helps to know.

I doubt that any stainless will be OK due to the temperature and that reducing acid of HCl.

Probably titanium would be OK ... also PVDF along with the weldable fluorocarbons such as FEP Teflon, Tefzel, Halar.

If it's a largish tank, then you'd have to use a dual laminate approach, ie. fiberglass reinforced ... albeit bonded to the thermoplastic.
